FOR SALE - 03/10/16

"Anna" is a lovely example of the Memory 19 - the east coast designed, lifting plate, gaff rigger.  Brilliant for the East Coast rivers.
She is a cabin version with two bunks and shelving.  The cockpit is large with lots of storage.  She has just had her topsides and decks repainted and comes with two topsails, two jibs, a stormjib (from a firefly), a main (with a third reefing line added), a cockpit cover, a boom tent, and a heavy duty winter cover.  Fenders, warps and anchor.  Also has "legs" for taking the ground.
She also has a double axle braked trailer that has recently been serviced.  She is also antifouled for this season - so ready to tow away and start sailing.
(Same boat in photos - she used to have black topsides and a grey deck!)  Selling reluctantly as the family has got bigger.  £7995 – Call Alex Davey on 07803 704639

AJAX for Sale  -  GANNET No 63

Has been regularly raced at RHYC for many years and in Falmouth Week (see photo – Gannet leading the pack)

  • Now fully restored by David Kerridge and Bob Tate:
  • Weight has been reduced from 960Kg to 903Kg and hull has very low moisture reading, which can be demonstrated. Inside of hull treated with epoxy below water line.
  • New floors and floorboards all epoxy coated. Spinnaker halyard led under floor boards to helm, as is modern practice.
  • Front buoyancy tank rebuilt inside and extended back to conform to class requirements, leaving top of front tank clear for storage.
  • Rear buoyance tank refurbished with epoxy and resealed.
  • Side seats, supports and shelf all new and epoxy coated.
  • Keel has been off and refurbished all over with epoxy. Keel bolts, plates and lifting eyes all replaced with 316 stainless steel
  • Mast is one piece Mk 2 Holt, which has a good reputation, similar to the mast in boat which won the Champs 2 years ago.
  • Rig set up to known good fast positions, which will be reproduced on the water for new owner.
  • Echo sounder and repeater with new transducer fitted.

This boat has had a comprehensive rebuild and all known weaknesses have been tackled head on and treated correctly. No short cuts have been taken and as such this boat should not be confused with some of the very tired boats on offer, which are cheaper, but will eventually cost far more than the asking price.
Gannet is offered with 2 suits of good sails, a new cover and a fully restored original road trailer.
She will be a very competitive boat and we hope that new owner will race her in the RHYC fleet.

Ajax 69, Goosander, owned by Peter Dickinson.
Goosander has a long and successful history in the East Coast fleet, but has been out of the water for four years during which she has had an extensive refit, including very careful refairing.  Currently in a barn awaiting a top coat of paint, she is up for sale on the basis that the new owner can choose the hull colour, with the cost of painting to be borne by Peter.

She is on sale at £8,000 complete with an excellent trailer.

Half Share Available in an LM 27

I'm considering parting with a half share in my LM 27, Marguerite, which is berthed in the Club marina from April to October and spends the winter ashore in a boatyard near Woodbridge on the River Deben. At present she is not being used as much as she might, and there is plenty of opportunity for someone else to enjoy sailing her as well. The arrangement I am envisaging is a completely equal partnership with equal rights and obligations, equal usage and expenses. The new partner would pay half the current value of the boat; all major expenses would be shared 50-50; all major decisions would require the agreement of both parties; who was to sail when would be agreed at the start of the season but could be adjusted later.

If you want to discuss this further, please e-mail me at

For Sale - 10/11/14

I am the present owner of Charles Currey's international 14 - K704. It is an historic boat and at my age, quite beyond my capabilities to sail, so I am looking for a good home for it.

I must admit that it is not in very good condition, but it is complete, and ready to sail.

I am open to reasonable offers, as this winter it is going to have to remain in the open just covered with plastic sheets.

I live in Knighton, Powys, and my telephone numbers are:
