Crew Wanted and Available

Crew Available - 26/4/12

I have recently joined the RHYC as a new member and I am hoping to find some crewing opportunities. I started dinghy sailing on the broads at the age of 8 when our family used to hire sailing boats for holidays in the days when the backup power was a quant pole. Last year I did day skipper and I hope to complete coastal skipper this year. I enjoyed a flotilla holiday in Turkey last year and I am going to  Croatia and the Ionian this summer with my family. I would like to get some experience of cruising locally. I am looking for crewing opportunities so as to learn more about sailing and the locality before making any investment decisions. Should be a useful pair of hands, keen to learn and can cook.

Hi, I’m new to the area and keen to get involved in local round the cans and offshore racing. I’ve got quite a lot of experience in most positions on the boat but to summarise;
Extensive cruising and racing on family’s Contessa 32, West of Scotland.
Crew/Deckhand on Swan 651, 6 months including Atlantic crossing,
Owned various boats including latterly a 1720 for 3 years.
A lot of racing on a IMX38, including a Fastnet race, all positions but mainly helm or mainsheet.
Lots of day racing and regattas on various other boats in Scotland and Newcastle.
I’m a laid back, adaptable person and really enjoy sailing. I can do any position on board but least suited to foredeck (big / heavy!).
Please feel free to contact me if I can help.
