Membership Offer

Our members are the life blood of our Club. From generations of families to lone dinghy sailors, we all have a bond – the love of boats, sailing and messing around on the River. Whether your real passion is racing dinghies or cruising with friends through the estuaries of the East Coast, our Club is here to provide you with a sailing base and a social hub.

The magic ingredients

The eclectic mix of members is something that makes the RHYC so fantastic. Our membership ranges from novice Oppie sailors to national crews, from adults without any sailing knowledge to international race judges. With such a varied mix, you are certain of a warm welcome, whatever your interest in sailing.

How to join

For anyone interested in becoming a member, please contact Mary or Kathryn in the office on 01473 780319. We will do our very best to introduce all prospective members to a relevant and experienced RHYC member, to make sure that all your questions are addressed, and that new members are warmly welcomed from the outset.

 

Subscriptions

1. The membership year is from 1 January to 31 December. Subscriptions and facility charges are collected annually by a single payment cheque, credit card (4% service charge) or direct to the Club accounts by internet banking. Payments may be made by installment using a bank standing order. A surcharge of 10% will be added to the total cost. Any individual arrangement must be agreed by 31 January 2010 and full payment received by 31 August 2010. Details are available from the Club Office.

2. To secure facilities at the club, whether a marina berth, mooring, dinghy park space or laying up facility, payment must be received by 31 January 2010. If payment is by installments, the number and amount must be agreed and the first payment received. If payment is not received by 31 January, any facility used in the previous year may be offered to another member.

Payment of subscriptions is due for the calendar year starting on 1 January. Subscriptions shall be paid by 1 March (Club Rule 9.1). Any member who has not paid by 31 March will be deemed to have resigned (Club Rule 10.1) and their name will be displayed prominently on the Club Notice Board (Club Rule 10.2) as a member who has resigned.

3. SUBSCRIPTIONS
Subscriptions are set each year by resolution at the Annual General Meeting. The amounts for 2010 are:

Annual rates apply for new members joining prior to 1 July each year. If joining 1st July - 30th September a discount of 6/12ths may be granted, 1st October - 31st December a discount of 8/12ths may be granted.

4. JOINING FEE  0% of full year subscription.

5. FACILITIES CHARGES:  These charges are set by the General Committee

5.1 DINGHY PARK   Third party Insurance cover, minimum £2million is required
12 month charges Lengths rounded up to nearest metre

Note Marina Berths, moorings and laying up spaces are booked on individual forms and are sent out separately to current users of these services.
